The Simulation in Nuclear Engineering Research Group belongs to the Department of Mathematics of the RWTH Aachen University and the Center of Computational Engineering Science (CCES) at the RWTH Aachen University. It was founded in 2009, and directed since then by Prof. Dr. Frank.

The research focuses on modeling, simulation and optimization of particle transport with applications in:

• - Deterministic Methods for Dose Calculation in Radiotherapy
• - Optimal Treatment Planning in Radiotherapy based on Boltzmann Transport Equations
• - Nonclassical Transport in Clouds
• - Crime Modeling
