The group belongs to the Department of Mathematics. It is lead by Professor Sebastian Noelle since 2000.
The research areas are:
- systems of hyperbolic conservations laws
- numerical analysis and error control
- applications to compressible fluid flows (gas dynamics) and geophysical flows (shallow water, rivers, flooding, oceans, avalanches)
